ART QUAKE KYOTO (Creativity Biennale of Art Exhibitions and Film Festival)

Art Quake Kyoto 2019 (Creativity Biennale of Art Exhibitions and Film Festival) is an initiative to provide a platform for artists for global exchange of creative talents and ideas. International artists will discover and interact with the rich cultural and artistic heritage of Kyoto, which is one of the most unique and interesting art capitals of the world. Likewise, in attracting diverse works of art from known and respected artists worldwide, this event also brings to Kyoto and its residents a multi-cultural experience as well as showcase Kyoto and its myriad artistic treasures to the world thru a Juried International Art Exhibitionilm Festival.

Art Quake Kyoto 2019 is the 4th edition of Art Quake, the 1st of which was Art Quake Istanbul 2014, held in Istanbul at the famous Beylerbeyi Palace by the shores of the Bosphorous. In 2015 and 2017, the shows were held successfully at the Museum of Kyoto in Japan with the beautiful atmosphere of shrines, temples, calm gardens and ancient rituals. Following this beautiful experience, we are staging the event again in this Japanese Cultural Capital to experience once more a euphoria of talents and techniques.

The event which is hosted at the Museum of Kyoto features a juried exhibition of paintings, sculptures, installations and interactive media. In 2019, a new category is added which is Cinematic Arts. This category includes short films of any genre and style ( animation, live action, documentary, experimental and music video). A selection of excellent films will be featured in a short film festival as part of the Art Quake Kyoto 2019.

Ultimately, the goal of Art Quake is to hasten Peace thru art by inspiring people around the globe through the creative expressions of international artists as showcased in the international exhibitions and international film festivals.
